Professional River Guide & Rafting Certification Program
The Professional River Guide & Rafting Certification Program by Oxbow Explore combines Basic and Intermediate white-water rafting training to develop participants' technical skills, confidence and professional competence. The programme covers raft handling, river navigation, safety procedures, rescue techniques, teamwork and on-river leadership through structured theoretical learning and practical river exercises. It aims to equip participants with the skills, decision-making abilities and experience required for safe river navigation and responsible rafting operations across varying white-water conditions.
The Himalayan Declaration
The Himalayan Declaration is a strategic partnership between Oxbow Explore, United Rafting Federation (URF), and The Indian Rafting Foundation (TIRF), established to strengthen India's position in global rafting and build a sustainable ecosystem for professional training, competitive sport, river expeditions, and adventure development.
The initiative brings together national governance, international standards, and on-ground execution to create pathways for river guide certification, instructor development, and athlete training aligned with international rafting, Olympic, and Asian Games frameworks.

The Declaration aims to develop India's rivers into world-class training and expedition destinations, nurture talent from river communities, expand international collaboration, and create opportunities for Indian athletes and professionals on the global stage.
Through a phased implementation plan encompassing training infrastructure, dual national and international certification, signature river expeditions, competitive rafting programmes, and multi-domain adventure initiatives, the Himalayan Declaration sets out a shared vision for India's long-term growth as a recognised centre for rafting excellence and responsible adventure development.
